Poljana is a cute little place, where one of our houses with apartments is, next to a small town Preko. You can visit beaches in both places. Closest beaches in Poljana are only a minute away from us and beaches in Preko are only 10min of walk or minute by a car. In the evening take a walk from Poljana to Preko with beautiful view on town Zadar across the channel.

Poljana  This beautiful little picturesque place in the cove is surrounded by the peninsula of St Peter with Romanic church from 13th century on one part and on the other side houses with green gardens. Poljana is a safe place with little traffic and no big roads. It has a children playground, sports ground for mini football and basketball, ping pong tables, a small shop and two pizzerias/coffee bars. On the perifery Poljana is surrounded with olive-groves, fig-groves, vineyards and offers nice walk through the nature or by the sea.

Beaches in Poljana  There are two main beaches both with small pebbles just 1 minute away by foot from our apartments and they are situated on the opposite sides of the cove so you can choose to spend the day on the sun or in the shade depending on the time of the day and the position of the sun. The water is crystal clear and there are no industry anywhere near here.
Beaches in Preko  Since our place Poljana is just right next to small town Preko we and our guests often visit both town and beaches in Preko. It’s a 10min of walk or minute by a car. The biggest and most famous beach „Jaz“ is situated in a beautiful cove that proudly carries the blue flag –a symbol of clear sea and enviroment. It is a sandy beach and outside is concrete with entrance for disabled, slide, wooden pier and shower. There are also public toillets, free parking, children playground, sandy volleyball court, ice cream/coffe-bar, restaurant/pizzeria and turistic office. Some parts of the cove have shade in the morning and some in the afternoon so you can choose where to put your towel. This beach is ideal both for children and grown ups and there are shallow and deep sea. Along the coast of Preko you can find many more beaches and places to jump in deep sea or play with children in shallows.
Preko Is administrative center of the island Ugljan and beside great beaches it also offers restaurants, konobas, pizzerias, patisserie, coffee bars, souvenir shops, grocery stores, open market, fish shop, yacht/boat marina, rent a bike/scooter etc. Local art gallery is situated in the Cultural center where various exhibitions and performances are held during and off season. Situated opposite city Zadar it’s an easy living place with typical Dalmatian architecture. Evening walk or dining in restaurant on seafront with marvelous view on Zadar city channel is the best way to feel the pulse of this small Dalmatian town. Preko is the closest starting point for the excursion to St.Michael’s Venetian fortress from where the view spreads on over more than 200 islands of the archipelago of Zadar and Kornati National Park. About 80 m opposite from Preko the idyllic islet of Galevac(Školjić) lies covered with dense vegetation and shelters the 15th century monastery of Franciscan friars of the third order. It’s sandy beach is a popular swimming sight.
